  1. The Food

Your taste buds are in for a treat! From food truck favorites like Cajun Ambrosia’s hearty boudin sandwiches and Voodoo Momma’s well-loved beignets to delicious tacos from Sloppy Taco all the way to Boombox Frozen Pops & Ice Cream’s icy treats, the Southern Cast Iron Cook-Off™ will have food to satisfy all of your cravings.

While cook-off competitors will primarily cook for the judges, a fleet of food trucks will be on site selling a variety of tasty dishes to hungry guests. Plus, the Charlestown Farmers’ Market will relocate for the weekend to the Lake Charles Civic Center where attendees can purchase local produce, meats, and baked goods

  1. The Music

Dust off your dancing shoes because the lineup of talented musical acts is sure to get you on your feet. You won’t want to miss zydeco and Cajun sensations Feufollet, Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie, Dustin Sonnier, and The Iceman Special as they take the stage starting Saturday afternoon.

Then country music star and Grand Ole Opry member Craig Morgan wraps up the evening with an unforgettable closing performance featuring some of his biggest hits like “That’s What I Love About Sunday” and “Redneck Yacht Club.”

  1. The Expo

Interact with makers, collectors, and cooks at the numerous booths and live cooking demonstrations throughout the expo hall. It’s the perfect place to purchase must-have accessories like limited-edition leather handle holders created by our friends at Black Jacket Tackle Co. to commemorate your weekend.

Cast iron from makers like Stargazer Cast Iron and The Field Company will also be available on site so you can stock up on the latest cookware needed to perfect your cast iron cooking. Stop in at any time during the two days of food and fun to see what’s new.

  1. The Glory

Are you the go-to cast iron cook in your family? Or maybe a professional chef who regularly wows crowds with your cast iron creations? For a chance to earn more than just bragging rights, enter our amateur or professional cook-off categories, like Meat & Game, Seafood, Sweet & Savory Baking, and Vegetables & Sides .

First-, second-, and third-place winners in each category will receive cash and prizes valued at $1,500, $750, and $500, respectively. If that’s not enough, the winning recipes and cooks will be featured in the March/April 2020 Issue of Southern Cast Iron magazine!
