‘Tis the season to celebrate the ones we love with the food we love. Nothing brings friends and family together like sitting down for delicious meals at the family table. That’s why our November/December issue is full of all things holiday. With recipes this delicious, it’s hard to choose a favorite, but I managed to pick a few that put me in the holiday spirit and I know will get you in yours.

    • Hi Mable! Cast iron cookware is made of iron and is widely used for its non-stick properties and even heat distribution, as well as its ability to go from stovetop to oven. A seasoned cast-iron pan is one that has a layer of oil baked on and is ready for cooking. Most pans come pre-seasoned now, but it’s always a good idea to add a few layers of extra seasoning before cooking so food won’t stick. We love Jeff Rogers method for seasoning, which you can find here: http://theculinaryfanatic.com/cast-iron-restoration-maintenance/jeff-rogers-cast-iron-seasoning-method/. Hope this helps!
