Skillet-Roasted Turkey with Bourbon-Orange Glaze

Why use a regular roasting pan for your holiday turkey when you’ve got a perfectly good cast-iron skillet?

    • Hi Mable! Cast iron cookware is made of iron and is widely used for its non-stick properties and even heat distribution, as well as its ability to go from stovetop to oven. A seasoned cast-iron pan is one that has a layer of oil baked on and is ready for cooking. Most pans come pre-seasoned now, but it’s always a good idea to add a few layers of extra seasoning before cooking so food won’t stick. We love Jeff Rogers method for seasoning, which you can find here: http://theculinaryfanatic.com/cast-iron-restoration-maintenance/jeff-rogers-cast-iron-seasoning-method/. Hope this helps!
